It is with deep love and sorrow that we announce the passing of Dana Mitchell Evans Lamont, who departed this life on August 11, 2025, at the age of 79.

Dana is preceded in death by his mother Maxine Lamont (nee MacDonald) and father Lorne Lamont, and is survived by his loving wife Martine Sevigny-Lamont, sister Wyann Ruso, son Danny Lamont (Joanne), daughter Dionne Lamont (Rob) and grandchildren Madison, Christopher, Hailey and Brady. Sadly missed by his best friend Larry Lachlan.

Born on July 8, 1946, Dana lived a life marked by compassion, quiet strength, hard work, and a deep commitment to integrity, and community. Throughout the years, Dana wore many hats — as a devoted family member, and a guiding presence in the lives of those who knew him.

Dana’s warmth and wit left a lasting impression on everyone who had the privilege of crossing paths with him. In a world that often rushes by, Dana took time — for people, for moments, for memories. Those memories now live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to be loved by Dana.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date, and in lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Lakeridge Health Foundations and the Canadian Cancer Society.

Although Dana has left this earthly life, his presence remains — in stories, in laughter, in lessons shared, and in the love that endures beyond the bounds of time.
