LANE, William John Lane

Passed away peacefully at Bowmanville Hospital on February 16, 2026. Survived by his siblings James (Barb), Doug (Susan), Wesley (Doreen), Muriel Woods (Doug), Stanley (Susan); as well as 9 nieces and nephews, 7 great nieces and nephews. Parents were Ross and Thelma Lane (deceased ). February 28th visitation at 11:00am, followed a service at 12:00pm . Reception to follow at Northcutt Elliott. John was an avid sports fan cheering on his favorite teams; the Jays, Leafs, and the Oshawa Generals. He was a member of the rural bowling league for 35 years and enjoyed golfing in the summer. John worked on the family farm and picked apples in the fall for neighbors. The Toronto Star crossword was his daily challenge.
