LANZ, Walter Lanz

Born and raised in south Germany during the war years, Walter trained as a hairdresser and eventually took a position at a salon in Sweden. It was here he met Marion, who had already emigrated to Canada from Germany, and who had travelled to Sweden to train at the same salon. After spending time as a hairdresser on a world cruise line, Walter followed Marion to Toronto, where they married and built a beautiful life together.

Together they owned and operated Chic Hair Stylists for 30+ years, bought their home in West Hill where they lived to this day, raised a loving family, and had a wide circle of good friends. After retiring, they helped raise their grandchildren, had many years of travel adventures, and enjoyed their home and garden with wonderful neighbours.

Walter was a strong yet gentle man, a quiet observer of life, with a wonderful dry sense of humour. He was very loved and will be missed, but we celebrate a long life so well lived. A private family gathering will be held in the coming weeks.
