It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of our mother, Marie-Paule Rochon, on Friday, August 1, 2025, at the venerable age of 99. Daughter of the late Théodore Legault and the late Estelle (née Bourdon), and beloved wife of the late Rhéal Rochon.

She is survived by her five children, Dr. Luc Rochon MD (Lydia) of Ottawa, Estelle Charron (late Jacques) of Ottawa, Yve of St. Catharines, René (Ginette) of Sturgeon Falls, and Lorette Mainville (Michel) of Timmins. Her memory will be cherished by her nine grandchildren: Grégoire, Catherine, Rollando, Rizalina, Nicolas, Jean, Mélanie, Karine, Annick, and her twelve great-grandchildren: Benjamin, Samuel, Nina, Miguel, Vincent, Karlo, John and Patricia, Théodore, Thomas, Phélix, and Kamille.

Marie-Paule was predeceased by her siblings Gabriel Legault, Lucille Noël, Sr. Laurette Legault (FDLS), Annette Morrisette, Carmen Legault, Françoise Bourret, Carl Legault, and Rachel Marleau. She was known for her love of life, contagious smile, and dedication to her community. A passionate outdoor enthusiast, she remained active well into her later years with swimming, cycling, skiing, and walking. She was also a proud volunteer with the hospital’s ladies’ auxiliary.

The family wishes to thank Dr. André Behamdouni, Dr. Desormiers, and the medical team at West Nipissing General Hospital for their exceptional care.

Visitation will be held at Sacré-Cœur Church on Saturday, August 23, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., followed by a mass at 12:00 p.m.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the Théorêt-Bourgeois Funeral Home and Crystal Crematorium, Sturgeon Falls. In lieu of flowers, donations to the West Nipissing General Hospital Foundation or Au Château would be appreciated.
