LEONG, Kerry Ning Leong
December 18, 1960 - November 8, 2025
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Kerry Leong, a man of remarkable vision, intensity, and determination. Kerry was a builder in every sense – of business, of community, and of legacy. He is lovingly remembered by his wife of 35 years, Rhonda, and his three sons: Rockland (Jessica), Benton, and Kazlo. He was a proud and devoted grandfather – “Yeye” – to Roman, Aurora, Maverick, and Layla. He is also survived by his sister Leslie and his mother-in-law, Grandma Ardy.
Kerry now joins his parents, Wally and Lillian, and his brother Shane, continuing their family’s legacy together in spirit. His influence stretches across British Columbia, where he left an unmistakable mark on the industries he helped shape. His most significant contributions remain rooted in Kelowna and Kitimat, where many of his proudest projects and legacy properties stand today.
Kerry lived life at full throttle. He loved fast boats, cars, and trucks, and he approached everything with intensity, passion, and a fearless willingness to push limits — an extremist in the most spirited and memorable way.
In the months before his passing, Kerry embarked on a final journey with his family – a two-month road trip across Vancouver Island, Kitimat, and Whitehorse with his wife, his sons, his daughter-in-law, his four grandchildren, and his sister. With trademark humour, he called it the “Chevy Chase Last Vacation.” Despite the challenges of lung illness, he remained remarkably positive, often reassuring everyone around him with the steady words: “Don’t worry – I’m going to get you all through this.”
On September 27, 2025, Kerry fulfilled his wish to celebrate life on his own terms, hosting his “Before My Last Breath” Celebration of Life at Arthon’s Crawford Quarry in Kelowna, one of his most prized legacy properties. Surrounded by family, friends, colleagues, and the community he cherished, he was profoundly grateful to spend that day with everyone. To all who attended, the family extends their deepest thanks for giving Kerry exactly the farewell he hoped for.
A memorial gathering may be held at a later date. Kerry’s legacy continues through the company he built (Arthon Industries Limited) and through the many people, places, and projects he inspired. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
