Passed away peacefully at the Willett Hospital in Paris, Ontario, on May 20, 2026.
Predeceased by her beloved husband John Lloyd Lewis (2025). Beloved mother of Gerri Lee and John. Missed by Wendell Owen. Cherished grandmother of Kelsey and the late Amanda Owen.
Dear sister of the late Ron, Carol Weaver, the late Louise, Jack Beattie, the late Frank, Donna Weaver, Rosemarie and Ron Broomfield, Carl and Barb Weaver, Kim and Peter McRae. Sister-in-law of Brenda the late Bob Ashby. Diane will also be sadly missed by her many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
Diane Jean Lewis was actively involved in her community and proudly served as Co-President of the Dufferin Tennis Club. For more than 20 years, she enjoyed working in the film industry as an extra in numerous productions. One of her proudest accomplishments was the publication of her book, Is It Really Goodbye? in 2011.
The family extends sincere thanks to Diane’s Amelia Street neighbours for their kindness and support shown to Diane and John over the years. Special gratitude is also extended to the doctors, nurses, and staff of the Willett Hospital for the exceptional care and compassion shown to Diane throughout her journey.
Kelsey, John, and Gerri Lee wish to express their heartfelt appreciation to Rosemarie and Ron for their unwavering love, support, and generosity during this difficult time.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Dwayne D. Budgell Funeral Home. In accordance with Diane’s wishes, a private family graveside service will be held in the Paris Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations in Diane’s memory to the SickKids Children Hospital would be appreciated by the family.
