LOCKIE, David Edward Lockie

David Edward Lockie passed away peacefully at Royal Terrace residence after a brave struggle with complications from beating cancer.

Dave met the love of his life and married Joyce in 1963, and together they raised five children: Brenda, Coral, Margaret, Charlotte, and Stewart.

Dave was a devoted, loving husband and father and a trusted friend. Known for his infectious smile, kind words, engaging conversations, and generosity, Dave was actively involved in his community, supporting the church and social events.

Dave always loved music and to sing and dance. He enjoyed sports, played hockey and baseball, and coached the latter. He had a passion for gardening and was an exceptional handyman—he could repair just about anything. A great outdoorsman, Dave loved to hunt and fish or simply enjoy a walk through the bush, especially in Algonquin.

Dave and Joyce loved to camp and travel. They journeyed across Canada, the USA, and even fulfilled their dream of visiting Alaska.

Dave is survived by his wife of 62 years, Joyce; his children Brenda (Todd), Coral, Margaret (Jason), Charlotte (Cleon), Stewart (Denise); his grandchildren Melissa, Chantelle, Mitchell, Alex, Adam, Shayla, Aspen, Allison, Hunter, Nicole; and great-grandchildren Ayden, Lyra, Sierra, and Wyatt.
He is also survived by his only brother Bill (Marilyn).

Dave was predeceased by his parents, Stewart and Ruth Lockie, and by his son-in-law Gord.

A private service will be held for immediate family at the Eaton Funeral Home, Listowel, on Saturday, June 14, 2025.

Memorial donations to Listowel Memorial Hospital or the Palmerston Hospital would be welcomed.
