Angela was born on April 18, 1938, in Bitonto, Bari, Italy, to the late Gaetano Mongiello and the late Rosa Tetro. From a young age, she learned the importance of family, faith, hard work, and compassion, values she carried with her throughout her life and lovingly passed on to future generations.
More than 54 years ago, Angela and her beloved husband, Domenico, made the courageous decision to leave Italy and begin a new life in Canada with their five children, hoping to create a brighter future for their family. Through hard work, sacrifice, and an unwavering commitment to one another, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories, and later welcomed another child into their growing family.
Angela’s greatest pride and joy was always her family. She was the cherished wife of the late Domenico Lorusso, who passed away on January 13, 2026. Together they shared a lifetime of love and created a beautiful legacy through their children: Clara (Tom), Rosa (Luis), Pasquale (Martha), Nino (April), Maria (Robert), and Elisabetta (George).
Nothing brought Angela more happiness than being surrounded by her family. She was a proud and devoted Nonna to 15 grandchildren and a loving great-Nonna to 21 great-grandchildren. Each one held a special place in her heart and brought her endless joy, pride, and love.
Angela will be lovingly remembered by her sister, Rosaria, and her brother, Tonino. She is now reunited with her beloved siblings Concetta, Michele, Peppino, Anna, Franco, and Rocco, who predeceased her and whom she missed dearly.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Angela’s life at Oshawa Funeral Home, 847 King Street West, Oshawa, on Thursday, August 13, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, August 14, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary of the People Church, followed by interment at Resurrection Cemetery.

Her gentle spirit, warm smile, wise guidance, and unwavering love will continue to inspire us every day.
