He was born on Thursday, February 15, 1940 on Manitoulin Island and passed away in Sault Ste. Marie on Sunday, August 9, 2026 at the age of 86.

Predeceased by his beloved parents Ann (Armstrong) and Keith Lovelace. During his later years, Roy accompanied his mom to services at the Salvation Army. This is where he met his beloved wife, Dinah. Roy is survived by his children Debbie, John, Larry and great niece Amy. He will be missed by his grand puppy Odin (Odee). He is also survived by his stepchildren Denise, Diane (Gerald), Rosalie (Rick), Kathy (Shawn) and Patty (Shawn). Roy will be missed by 13 step-grandchildren and 23 step great grandchildren. Brother of Lorraine and predeceased by brothers Tom, Buck and Leland.

Growing up on Manitoulin Island, Roy Lovelace developed a love for hunting and boating. He also enjoyed snowmobiling, ATV adventures, dancing and sharing his stories. He spent many hours “working the kettle” for the Salvation Army. Roy was employed as a Welder/Fitter at Algoma Steel.

Friends and family are invited to attend a Memorial Service at the Salvation Army (670 John Street) on Friday, August 14, 2026 at 2:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Salvation Army would be greatly appreciated by the family. Arrangements entrusted to Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Rd, 705-945-7758).
