LUGAJ, Novrus Lugaj

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Novrus Lugaj, who died peacefully in Toronto, Canada, on July 13, 2026, with his beloved wife and daughter by his side. He was 70 years old.

Novrus was born on March 15, 1956, in Fier, Albania. He carried the warmth and spirit of his homeland with him throughout his life, and it showed in everything he did — the way he welcomed people, the way he told a story, the way he made even strangers feel like old friends.

Novrus was, above all, a people person. Happy, positive, and endlessly social, he never met a conversation he didn’t enjoy or a story he couldn’t tell — and tell well. He had a gift for lighting up a room, and those who knew him will remember his laugh, his warmth, and his seemingly bottomless supply of stories, each one better than the last.

He was a devoted lover of soccer, a passionate cyclist, and a man who found peace in long walks — always moving, always out in the world, always finding something to enjoy along the way.

Novrus is survived by his wife, Adriana, his partner in life for 43 years; his daughters, Noada and Sonela; and his nieces and nephews, Melisa, Jurgen, Beatrix, and Conrad, all of whom he loved deeply and who loved him in return.

He will be remembered not for what he had, but for who he was — a husband, a father, an

uncle, and a friend who made life brighter for everyone lucky enough to know him. His

stories will be retold, his laugh will be missed, and the road he loved to walk and ride will

feel a little emptier without him on it.

He leaves behind a family that was with him until the very end, and a legacy of warmth, joy, and connection that will not be forgotten.

Rest in peace, Novrus. You will be deeply missed.
