MACCHEYNE, Douglas Bruce MacCheyne

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Douglas Bruce MacCheyne on Thursday, June 26, 2025, at Lakeridge Health Oshawa.

Doug was the beloved husband of Linda Martin for 19 years and the late Brenda MacCheyne (Kewell) for 35 years. He was a cherished father to Cheryl (Jos), Richard (Barbara), Heather, and Robb, and a loving stepfather to Kevin (Zeynep) and Jeff.

He was a proud and devoted papa to Jasmine, Jesse, Jade, Brianna, Rylan, Xavier, and Ayla, and a treasured great-grandfather to Gia and Ari. Doug will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by his extended family and many friends.

Doug proudly served as a dedicated police officer with the Toronto Police Service for 39 years. In retirement, he continued his commitment to community service by volunteering with the Royal Canadian Legion, Bowmanville Branch, where he helped honour local fallen veterans through the memorial banner program.

In keeping with Doug’s wishes, cremation has taken place with a private family ceremony. A Celebration of Life is planned for September.
