MACKIN, David Mackin

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of David Mackin, who died peacefully in Toronto, Canada on July 13, 2025, at the age of 63.

Born in the United Kingdom on April 6, 1962, David made a meaningful life in Canada, where he built a successful landscaping and property maintenance business and raised a family. A man of great dedication, he was known for his strong work ethic, generous heart, and unwavering love for those closest to him.

David was a loving husband to Lucia Odio, and a proud father to his son, James Mackin, who was the light of his life. He was the cherished son of Marina and James Mackin (both predeceased), and a beloved brother to Paul (Tanya), Heather (Luis), Masmain (Samantha), Jolaura (Ephron), Jade (Esther), and Scot (Cindy). He will be deeply missed by his 17 nieces and nephews, extended family, friends, clients, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

David had a passion for hockey, a love for travel, and above all, a deep commitment to family. His warmth, laughter, and kindness left a lasting impact on everyone he met. Whether he was cheering on his favorite team, exploring new places, or hosting loved ones, David lived life fully and with heart.

A private family service will be held to celebrate David’s life. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor his memory by spending time with your loved ones, just as David always did.

He will forever be remembered, loved, and missed.
