Passed away peacefully in her sleep in Whitby, Ontario, on September 18, 2025, at the age of 90.
Jean is the daughter of J.W. and Gwendolyn Kennedy (Burke) and predeceased by Allan, her husband of 60 years. Sister to Sandra; devoted mother of John (Suzanne) and Margaret; a cherished grandmother to Diana (Ike), Jeffrey (Vanessa), Jackie (Jay), Savannah (Austin), Melanie (Joshua) and Graham; proud great-grandmother to Elijah; and great aunt to many special nieces and nephews.
Jean’s love for her family, her strength, and her quiet grace will be remembered always.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 24, at 11:00 a.m at St. Veronica’s Parish in Dorval, where Jean was a longtime parishioner and lifetime CWL member. Family and friends are invited to gather and celebrate a life well lived. She will be buried alongside her husband Allan at Notre-Dame-des-Neiges Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Durham Region in Jean’s memory.
