MAHON, Niall Anthony Mac Mahon

It is with deep sadness that we announce that Niall Anthony Mac Mahon passed away peacefully at the age of 82 on June 30, 2026, at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital in Oakville, Ontario, Canada.

Niall was born in Dublin, Ireland, and emigrated to Canada in 1969. He settled first in Toronto where he worked as a commercial artist, and met his future wife, Eleanor Pope, moving to Oakville after their marriage in 1989.

Niall was a warm, generous and kind man who established a career in art and design in the exhibit and display industry. He had a keen interest in photography and politics and enjoyed social gatherings with his warm Irish hospitality. Family was important to Niall, and he was much-loved and respected. Niall was delighted to rekindle his Irish family ties returning to England and Ireland to reconnect with his brother, Barry, and other family members. Niall also made several trips to Ireland and enjoyed showing his homeland to his wife and extended Canadian family. Niall’s nephew, Brian O’Callaghan and his wife, Paula; and niece, Chloe Biddlecombe, her husband, Neil, and children, Thea and Tom, also visited him in Canada.

Niall is survived and sadly missed by his wife, Eleanor Pope. He was predeceased by his parents, Moira Barry and Bernard (Barney) Mac Mahon; his siblings, Eithne, Brian, and Barry. He will be deeply missed by his sister-in-law, Caroline Pope, her husband, David Tucker, and nieces, Erika and Kristen Tucker; Chloe Biddlecombe; Anne and Orlaith (O’Callaghan), Ciara O’Callaghan, and nephews, Brian, Eoin, Kevin and Gary O’Callaghan; sister-in-law Phil MacMahon; nieces Micheline and Tara (MacMahon); and nephews, Barry, Gerry and Mark MacMahon; and their spouses, extended family members and friends.

We are sincerely grateful to the nurses and staff for their care and warm support at Northridge Long Term Care Home where Niall took up residence as of December 22nd, 2025. We are also very grateful to the doctors and nurses at the Oakville Memorial Hospital for their medical care and compassion during his short time there.

A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date to honour Niall and share memories of him.
