MANGAN, John Peter Mangan

Entered into rest on Friday, December 27, 2024, at Hyland Crest Long Term Care in Minden, John Peter Mangan was born in Beaverton to the late Francis Maurice Mangan (1997) and Frances Ethel Kelly (1992).

John was the loving father of Leona Mangan and her husband John of Minden, Julie Cameron and her husband Alex of Woodville, and Sarah Reynold and her husband Kris of Lindsay. He was the proud Poppa of Greg Mangan, Clayton, Patrick, and Hannah Cameron, and Thomas and Ryker Reynolds. Dear brother of Tom Mangan of Beaverton, Frank Mangan and his wife Cheryl of Brechin, and Kathy Mangan of Vancouver.

An avid outdoorsman, John found great joy in nature, with a particular passion for hunting and fishing. He was known for spending Thanksgiving at the hunt camp, staying there until after deer season. As a Union Steward and Linesman at Ontario Hydro, John earned the nickname “Mags,” while in Beaverton he was fondly known as “Jack”—names he wore with pride.

Friends and family are invited to celebrate John’s life on Saturday, January 18, 2025. Visitation will take place from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the celebration of life service at 11:00 a.m. at Jardine Funeral Home, 8 Princes’ St. W., Fenelon Falls.
