Her age 86, of Stellarton and formerly of Thorburn, passed away Monday, August 31, 2026 in the Aberdeen Hospital, surrounded by family. Born June 8, 1940 in New Glasgow, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Margaret (Pitts) Dewtie. She was a former employee of McRae’s Restaurant. She was a longtime member of the Catholic Women’s League. Margaret Ann MacDonald is survived by her husband, Leslie “Buddy” MacDonald; children: Irma (Steve), Donnie, Brian, Barry and Connie; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, brothers and sisters. She was predeceased by a son, 2 grandsons and 4 brothers. There will be no visitation. A public graveside service will be held at 11am Wednesday, September 2, in St. Ann’s Cemetery, Thorburn. Donations in her memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. Arrangements are under the direction of R.H. Porter Funeral Home, New Glasgow.
