Margaret Ann Nielsen

Peacefully, on Friday, September 4, 2026, at Vision Nursing Home, Margaret Ann Nielsen passed away at the age of 78. Beloved wife of Arne. Loving mother of Freya (Jeremy) Bartelen and Kurt Nielsen. Cherished grandmother of Zoe and Joshua. Sister of Peter (Rita) Williamson. Special sister-in-law to Pennie Williamson. Also survived by her sister-in-law and brother-in-law Anne (Nielsen) Richardson and Keith Richardson. Predeceased by her parents, Harold and Margaret (Peggy) Williamson, her brothers Danny and Brad. She is survived by a nephew and several nieces.

Margaret took pride in providing a warm and comfortable home for her family. She loved to decorate for the seasons and holidays and enjoyed spending time in her garden. Margaret loved nothing more than spending time with her precious grandchildren (who lovingly referred to her as “Nana-Banana”). Her family cherishes the memories made at Pine Lake Campground where she and Arne enjoyed time at their trailer and vacationing to Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. Margaret enjoyed spending time in her craft room painting, scrapbooking, card-making, crocheting and rug-hooking. Her family is blessed to have several of her precious creations.

Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at Smith Funeral Home, 1576 London Line, Sarnia on Friday, September 11, 2026, at 12:00 p.m., with family and friends being received from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
