With heavy hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of Maria da Restauração Jesus Correia Morais on May 24, 2025, at the age of 87, at Lakeridge Health Bowmanville.

Born in Bombarral, Portugal, Maria immigrated to Canada in 1967 with her husband and their two young sons, embracing the promise of a new beginning. Together, they built a life rooted in love, sacrifice, and the values of family and perseverance.

Maria is survived by her loving husband, Antonio Morais; her three children, Orlando, Licinia, and her late son Tony; and her beloved grandchildren: Melanie (David), Kristina, Eric, Nicole (Jeremy), Melissa, Amanda (Cory), Dante, Luca, and Fabian. She was a proud great-grandmother to Emilio, Elena, and Ember.

Known for her warmth, quiet strength, and deep devotion to her family, Maria touched the lives of all who knew her. Her legacy of love and kindness will continue to live on in the hearts of those she held dear.

A service will be held to honor and celebrate her life.
