Marilyn Carol Bird

Marilyn Carol Bird

With love and sadness, we remember Marilyn Carol Bird, 81, of Ottawa, Ontario, who passed away peacefully on October 28, 2026, at her home at the Waterford Retirement Community in Ottawa.

Marilyn was born in St. Catharines, Ontario, on November 10, 1944, the beloved daughter of Arthur and Susan Emslie.

Marilyn married Terry Bird in 1968. Together, they built a life and a business, sharing a mutual love of family, friendship, travel, and community. These connections were at the heart of their life together.

We will remember Marilyn with love for her infectious smile and generous heart. Her love of Pine Lake, her dogs, curling, and her fondness for keeping everything neat and tidy, will remain cherished reminders of the person we knew and loved.

Her memory will be held close by her loving husband, Terry; her children, Paul (Melissa) and Diane (Tom); her grandchildren, William, David, Tyler, and Derek; and her sister, Darlene. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered. Marilyn was predeceased by her dear parents and her brother-in-law, Leo.

A small gathering to celebrate Marilyn’s life and share cherished memories will be held at the Waterford Craft Kitchen on Saturday, October 31, 2026, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m.

For those wishing to honour Marilyn’s memory, her family kindly asks that donations be made to the Canadian Cancer Society in lieu of flowers.
