It is with heavy hearts and a lifetime of beautiful memories that we announce the passing of our beloved Marilyn Jane Herrington on October 25th, 2026, at the age of 81.
Surrounded by the love of her devoted husband of 59 years, Paul Herrington, and her cherished family gathered by her side, Marilyn danced into Heaven, leaving behind a lifetime of treasured memories and happy times. Their love story began many years ago when Paul spotted Marilyn skipping rope outside and asked her on a date. That simple moment marked the beginning of a beautiful life together, filled with love, laughter, and countless cherished memories.
Marilyn lived life with a joyful spirit, a warm, outgoing personality and a deep love for her family. She lovingly raised her three children: Jason (Susan), Martha (Robert) and Larry (Kelly) and David. Above all, Marilyn took immense pride in her six grandchildren: McKayla (Randell), Jonathan, Carly (Maxwell), Ryan, Erin and Madilyn. They will forever cherish the memories of her gentle heart, infectious laughter, and the love she poured into everything she did — especially her homemade rice pudding and cranberry sauce.
Marilyn had a true zest for life and knew how to make every moment memorable. An avid bowler for 60 years, she treasured the friendships and memories made along the way. She especially enjoyed attending union dances and bowling banquets, where you could always find her on the dance floor. With her endless energy and love of dancing, she affectionately earned the title “The Dancing Queen” — a name that suited her perfectly. She also loved a trip to the casino, tending to her plants, colouring, playing games on her tablet, and travelling with family. But nothing brought her more joy than gathering with family and friends around the dinner table.
Marilyn was lovingly raised by her parents, Keith and Mae Burns. Predeceased by her brother, Ken, she will be fondly remembered by her surviving siblings Robert (Janet), Alfred (Debra), Sylvia and John (Darlene), along with her many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
