Life and family
Born and raised in North York, Mark spent 31 years working at Canada Dry/Coca-Cola. The company was part of the family story: his father, Larry, had devoted 37 years of his own career there. Friends and coworkers knew Mark for his spirited opinions and the unforgettable stories he told about life on the job.
Mark followed the Philadelphia Flyers, Washington Redskins and Toronto Blue Jays throughout his life. He also loved music and concerts. Some of his happiest memories were made with family and friends at the cottage on Roberts Lake, where he enjoyed fishing, relaxing and spending time on the water.
He is deeply missed by his mother, Helen; his sister Lori and Robert; nephews Alex and Nicholas; aunts Rita Kunc and Susan Schnier; and many friends and colleagues. Mark was predeceased by his father, Larry Hawkins, and by his grandparents Violet and Lawrence Hawkins and Donalda and Jim Kelly.
Visitation and celebration of life
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held Thursday, September 10, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A celebration of life will follow Friday, September 11, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. Both gatherings will take place at Meadowvale Village Hall, 6970 Second Line West, Mississauga, Ontario.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mark’s memory to Canadian Tire Jumpstart Charities.
