JONES, Mary Agnes “Aggie” (née Daigle) – March 28, 1947 – October 3, 2026

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Mary Agnes “Aggie” Jones, a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, Nana, Great Nana, Auntie, and friend. She was a cherished sister-in-law to many.

Aggie was the daughter of the late Albert and Marjorie Daigle. A much loved sister of many siblings (Beatrice, Laura, Reggie, Pam, June, Peter, Ruthanne and the late Jackie, Alma, David, Albert and Lorraine). She grew up in the small community of Gros Cap in a little home that was always full of life. She was the daughter of a fisherman, raised with strong values and a deep appreciation for hard work, family and the simple things in life. Those early lessons shaped the woman she became: strong, educated, compassionate, resilient and devoted to the people she loved.

For 52 years, she was the loving wife and best friend of her husband, John Jones. Together, they built a life filled with unconditional love and countless memories.

Aggie was the proud mother of Lisa Belleau (Blair), Elizabeth Jones, and Melissa Jones (Paul). She was an even prouder Nana of Justin, Britt, Jon, Hannah, DJ, Savannah, and Tukker. Cherished Great Nana of Jax, Jazzy, Cash, Jayce, Colter, Emberlee and Callum. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy.

Aggie had a voice that could fill a room, especially when she was passionate about something. She loved yelling bingo, had a wonderful playful spirit, and was never afraid to share her opinion. Her big personality, infectious laugh, clean house and fun-loving nature made her unforgettable.

A pillar of strength and a true family matriarch, Aggie was known for her big heart and even bigger laugh. She had a special way of making everyone feel loved and welcome. She was the heart of the family. She made a house a home.

Aggie was also well known for her mischievous spirit. She was the Nana who wasn’t afraid to have a little fun, teach the occasional bad word, or encourage a bit of harmless trouble. She loved every minute of it — and so did the kids. Her fun-loving nature, sense of humour, and unforgettable laugh created memories her family will carry with them forever.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Brenda Paat, 3B staff, Nurse Kasia, and Sault Area Hospital Palliative Care Team. They would also like to thank the Garden River Wellness Centre, and a special thanks to her PSW Tamara Nadeau.

Though her place in our family can never be filled, the love she gave so freely will live on through each of us. Aggie was the heart of our family, and will be loved and missed forever.

Family and friends are invited to Arthur Funeral Home – Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington St. East; 705-759-2522) on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
