
Suddenly and unexpectedly, while visiting her Canadian family and friends with her husband, Jim Omland, Mary Ellen (ME) Walker has passed away at the age of 72.
Raised in Point Edward, Ontario, to Maynard and Rene (Stoner) Walker, ME will be missed by countless friends and family around the globe. After graduating from UWO (BA) and McMaster (MBA), ME spent most of her working career with 3M managing numerous areas. In the 1988, ME moved with 3M to Minneapolis, MN, and it is here she met the love of her life, Jim Omland.
Mary Ellen Walker will wholeheartedly be missed by Jim and his children Marnie Omland, and her children Madisyn Otto, Cooper Asmus, and Ella Asmus. Chris Omland his wife Carie Omland and their daughter, Charlie.
Missing ME will be Jim’s siblings: Pam Omland Zimmerman and Tim, Tim and Loretta Omland, Nancy and Jim Heier, Stacey Mulrooney and Dave, and Jeff and Wendy Omland.
ME also leaves her brother Scott Walker, his wife Lorraine, and their sons Justin (Sarah Best and their son Thomas), and Nathan (Nicole and his twin girls Isla and Olive). In addition, ME also leaves her sister Lisa Bicum, her husband Steven, and their children Addie and Evans. ME was close to several cousins, including Bonnie White, John McNair, and Jane Walker.
With so many people to mention, inevitably some will be left out. ME’s closest Canadian friends who will miss her dearly: Linda and Lloyd Osmond, Brenda and Bob Bannerman, and Rose Creamer and her husband Ken.
ME led a full and purposeful life and still had so much to see and do. Plans were made, and tickets were purchased. We all should feel thankful and blessed to have known and been loved by her.
Cremation has taken place.
A celebration of life will be announced in the coming weeks. Please check back for updates.
In lieu of flowers, please feel free to donate to your favourite charity. ME would want you to raise a glass, make sure to visit some place new, order some fine wine, buy the seat upgrade, and live life to the fullest. She would want no less.
