BAPTIE, Mary Lou Ellen Baptie

A huge heart and a soaring voice, on the morning of February 2, 2024, as the sun prepared to rise and the moon retreated, led by the shining cross of the Providence chapel, my miracle of a mother took her final breath.

Beloved only child, crackerjack Bridge player and loyal friend, Mary Lou was, for many years, an elementary school teacher, Blythwood Road Baptist Church soprano soloist and Mendelssohn Choir member.

She was a traveller, a lover of cats, a lifelong cottager on Belmont Lake, and the best nana.

She was my biggest fan, and I hers. Fiercely missed, deeply adored, never forgotten.

A Celebration of Life will take place on March 14th, her 89th birthday, at 11 a.m. at Donway Covenant United Church. Reception to follow.
