She was born March 15, 1934 in Ceprano Italy to Rocco Carducci and Philomena Nemi, she was the youngest of 4 daughters. She married her beloved husband Giovanni in December 1955 and not long after the birth of their first son Tony they set sail for a better life in Canada, as many Italians did at that time.

They set up roots in Toronto and continued to grow their family. Although their life together had it’s struggles Vincenza was never happier than when she was cooking for her children, grandchildren, extended family or friends. Everyone would be so excited when they knew they would visit her because she would have made some homemade pasta, cookies or suppli.

As her children grew older and started to have families of their own it was time for Vincenza and Giovanni to downsize and they moved into Casa Abruzzi where they made many friends and also reunited with some people who were on the same boat they had taken to Canada over 40 years earlier. This was a community they cherished to the end.

Vincenza will be greatly missed by her son Tony, his wife Heather and their children Jennifer, Thomas (Cat) and Bec, daughter Rose, her husband Val and their children Michael, Laura (Joe), and Christopher, her son Jon and his wife Lisa and their children Teresa and James as well as her daughter Linda. She will also be missed by her Casa Abruzzi family.

Vincenza’s family would like to thank all her friends and PSW workers at Casa Abruzzi as well as the doctors and nurses at St. Joseph’s hospital for their care of our beloved mother.
