Carol Ann Mazeikis
June 27, 1941 – December 14, 2024
With heavy hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of Carol Ann Mazeikis at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on December 14, 2024, at the age of 83. Carol Ann was predeceased by her parents, Clayton and Rebecca (nee Jonah), her beloved husband Peter, and her brother Bob.
She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her daughter, Lisa (Ryan), as well as her stepchildren, Eleanor, Andrew, and Peter Jr. Carol Ann was also a cherished Nana to Logan and Dustin, and step-grandchildren Richard, Victoria, Olivia, Tyler, and Emily.
Carol Ann had a distinguished career in healthcare, serving as the head nurse of the Intensive Care Unit at Hotel Dieu Shaver Hospital in St. Catharines for many years. Later, she made a significant impact at Sir Sandford Fleming College in Peterborough, where she developed and led the paramedic program, ultimately becoming the head of Continuing Education.
A compassionate and devoted mother, Carol Ann was known for her kindness and her ability to make those around her feel accepted. She was a wonderful mentor and treasured moments spent playing cards and board games with her family. Carol Ann also loved traveling whenever she had the opportunity.
A special thank you to the staff at Hillsdale Estates for the wonderful care provided to Carol Ann during her stay.
Visitation will be held at Oshawa Funeral Home on Friday, December 20, 2024, at 9:30 AM, followed by a service in the Chapel at 10:30 AM. A light reception will follow in the Heritage Room, with interment to take place at Union Cemetery after the reception.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer Society of Ontario would be appreciated by the family.
