MCCLUSKEY, Raymond McCluskey

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Raymond McCluskey on Wednesday July 8th, 2026. He was 88 years old. Raymond passed peacefully with his wife Evelyn by his side and surrounded by loving family and friends. He is survived by the love of his life Evelyn, their children Kevin (Lily) and Lisa, grandchildren Aaron, Andrew and Isabelle, sister Doreen (Harry), and nephews/nieces Micheal, Ryan, Heather, Linda (Brian), Evelyn, Maurice (Pamela) and Pauline. He is predeceased by his brother Ronnie.

Raymond was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland and came to Canada in the early 1959. Evelyn in July 1961 and they settled down to build a life together. They were married for more than 64 years. In his determination to provide a good life for himself and his family, he spent many years completing both an undergraduate degree and an MBA in the evenings while working full time during the day.

Following a long and successful career in HR, Raymond retired in 1993 at age 55. He enjoyed 33 years of retirement with Evelyn, kicking it off with a yearlong road trip throughout Europe in their brand-new Westfalia camper van. The travel bug never left, and after finishing one trip Raymond was off planning the next one. Portugal was a favorite destination of theirs and they returned numerous times over the years. In addition to traveling, Raymond enjoyed good conversation, a good book, and a good drink, all in equal measure. He loved the outdoors, was an avid hike leader, golfer, and runner. He also played a mean game of Scrabble.

Raymond was a loving husband, a wonderful dad and loved his grandchildren. He had a kind heart and a warm soul. We will miss him dearly and think of him with fond memories always.

If desired, memorial contributions to the Bruce Trail Conservancy, made in Raymond’s memory, would be welcome.

A celebration of life will be held later this Summer.
