It is with heavy hearts that the family of Wendy Diane McCrory (nèe Young) announce her peaceful passing at home on March 8, 2026, at the age of 78.
Born on January 11, 1948, to Robert Young and Gladys McNeil, Wendy lived a life centered around love, family, and friendship. She shared many cherished years with husband, Herbert “Cam” McCrory, who predeceased her in 2005.
Wendy’s greatest joy in life was her family. She loved being a mom, a nanny, and great-nanny, and she treasured every moment with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her warmth, care, and unwavering love created a strong and close family that will carry her memory forward.
She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her children Michael, Shawn (Tina), and Jason (Courtney). She was a proud grandmother to Kristy, Kaitlin, Nick, Aron, Sam, Hannah (Wade), and Lauren, and a cherished great-grandmother to Cameron, Carly, Lucas, Logan, and Waylon.
Wendy will also be lovingly remembered by her siblings Bob (Patti), Jen (Don, deceased), Paul (Julie), and Jamie (Nancy). She shared a special lifelong friendship with her dear best friend, Brenda Smith.
Outside of family, Wendy loved travelling, kayaking, quilting, and spending time with friends. She had a deep appreciation for life’s simple joys and the connections she shared with those around her.
Wendy will be remembered for her kindness, warmth, and the love she gave so freely to those around her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by her family and friends.
Her greatest pride and joy was the family she loved so deeply, and her memory will live on through them.
In honor of Wendy’s wishes, there will be no visitation. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
