With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of David Brian McDougall, affectionately known as Dave, of Oshawa, Ontario, who left us on August 29, 2025, at the age of 55.

Dave will be deeply missed by his beloved wife, Christine, and his devoted mother, Bonnie. He was preceded in death by his father, Brian. He will also be missed by his cherished granddaughters, Alison and Paige and his loving stepdaughter Shari. He is also lovingly remembered by his sisters Shannon, Brandy, and Alisha, as well as extended family and many friends.

He was also the best dog dad to Bandit, who crossed the rainbow bridge in 2022. We take comfort in knowing they are reunited once again.

Dave had a deep love for the outdoors and could often be found hunting, fishing, or browsing thrift shops for hidden treasures. He also loved his sports—whether cheering on the Oshawa Generals, faithfully watching the Maple Leafs in hopes of a long-awaited Stanley Cup, or enjoying a Blue Jays game. Dave was always a devoted fan.

More than anything, Dave cherished time spent with his family. Whether sharing a laugh, a quiet moment, or playing his favourite game of cards, those connections meant the world to him.

Known for his quiet strength, sense of humor, and generous heart, Dave touched the lives of those who knew him. He leaves behind memories full of laughter, love, and the simple joys he appreciated most.
