MCELROY,Daniel Walter McElroy

Passed away peacefully, surrounded by family. Born on August 19, 1938, in Mattawa, Ontario, Daniel lived a life full of kindness, generosity, and love.

Daniel is survived by his devoted wife – Bev, and their three children – Steve, Ron (Janice) and Leanne (Shawn) He was an adoring grandfather to – Taylor, Ronnie, Paige, and Jennifer, each of whom brought him immeasurable pride and joy. Daniel also leaves behind his siblings – Roberta, Jim, and Diane – and is predeceased by his beloved sister – Barb.

Known to most as Dan, he dedicated his life to helping others. A teacher by profession, he shaped not only the minds but also the hearts of his students with patience, encouragement, and compassion. His love of sports – especially hockey, football, curling and baseball – was lifelong, and he found as much joy in watching a good game as he did in playing. At home, Dan’s gardens reflected his gentle nature; he tended them with the same care and devotion he gave to the people in his life.

Dan will be remembered as a man of great kindness, humor, and unwavering generosity. His family, friends, and all who knew him will deeply miss his presence, but his legacy of love and service will continue to flourish in the lives he touched. Visitation will be held at the Beacan Presbyterian Church 413 Simcoe Street, Beaverton on Monday, September 8 from 1:00pm until the time of service at 2:00pm.
