MCLARDY, Donald “Don” McLardy

Passed away on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, God, in His wisdom, decided to take home Don McLardy.

Loving husband of Liz. Devoted father to Becky (Damon), Heidi, Alisha, Melia, Joshua (Meagan), Kristy, Denae and Raquel. Loving Papa to Caleb, Logan, Danika, Wyatt, David, Rayleigh and Emmett. Survived by his sisters Joan (the late David Poole) and Barbara McLardy (Frank Markotich); and brother-in-law of Ed Vanderbyl (Lynn). Don will also be sadly missed by his dog Stiehl.

Don was a dedicated dad to his kids and well known in the community for hisgreat sense of humor and willingness to help. He thrived in social gatherings andhosted many of them with his wife, Liz. Don was a skilled plumber with his own company and was respected in the community in Cookstown where he raised his kids for many years. Don’s love for music was evident in his collection of guitars and thoroughly enjoyed being a member of the praise team at Springdale Church.Don was in the process of closing his business to enjoy retirement in Bracebridge,Ontario to cuddle his grandchildren and enjoy landscaping his new property in anticipation of all his children coming home in the summer. He will be missed by many friends and family, who deeply treasured him.

A memorial service will be held at St. John’s Presbyterian Church, 2940 10th Sideroad, Bradford on Thursday, May 14, 2026 at 1 p.m.
