With the deepest sorrow I announce the passing of our mother, Marguerite McLaren. Mom was born and raised on the Rutherford farm in Kirby, living a simple life before and during the war. Mom spoke often about the farm. She spent her life in Orono running Orono Coal/Fuel & Lumber with dad, Arthur, for 60 years. She greeted everyone with a smile and a story, she cared about everyone. Mom proudly, obtained her pilot license at 49 and spent her retirement traveling North America with dad and their many, many friends. Her final years were spent with the things she loved…her art, her family and nature. Peg was strong, brave, loving and fun, a true Canadian. At 95 years young, her sweet spirit left us, she will be deeply missed.
