MCMILLAN, Catherine Elaine McMillan

With sadness we announce that, surrounded by family, Catherine passed away at Dr. Bob Kemp Hospice on the 20th of June, 2026. Following a diagnosis with High-Grade Glioblastoma in April of 2025, Catherine Elaine McMillan heartened us all with her defiant optimism and high spirits. In the end, the disease took her from us. A woman with unbounded love to give, she devoted her time to caring for people and animals. She was also a prolific crafter and a fountain of creativity, who found fulfillment in seeing others enjoy what she made, and meaning in the act of making in and of itself. Predeceased by her father Jack (2000), she leaves behind husband Don, sons Alex (Hannah) and Nathan (Morgan), mother Audrey (Bruce), and siblings Debbie (Paul), Todd (Kim), and Wade (Lilla). Also mourning her loss are nephews, nieces, cousins, extended family, and friends.

It was Cathy’s lifelong wish that her mortal remains be given to science. She is now a “teacher” at McMaster University’s Education Program in Anatomy. A celebration of life will be held on the 29th of August at a private residence. Please contact the family directly for further information.
