Passed away peacefully at Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre, Barrie, Ontario on Thursday March 12, 2026 at the age of 96.
Predeceased by his first wife Shirley (1988) and second wife Janet (2009).
Dear father of Jim (Nancy), grandfather of Erin (John) and Brad. Great grandfather of Everly. Step-father of Jason (Tanya) Burton, step-grandfather of Bauer and Bryce.
Jim is survived by his brother Robert McMullen, sister-in-law Joyce Lemon and brother-in-law Carl MacBride.
He was predeceased by his parents Oscar and Charlotte McMullen, sisters Joyce McCallum and Eileen Heydon and brothers Lewis McMullen and Kenneth McMullen.
Jim proudly served in the Canadian Armed Forces for almost 27 years. Starting at Canadian Forces Base Borden this journey took him to Petawawa, On, Gagetown, NB, Ipperwash On and 2 postings to Germany before his final posting back to Base Borden at the end of his military career.
He then began his second career of 21 years working for Brewers Retail.
Jim was an exceptional 5-pin bowler and an avid golfer.
In keeping with his wishes, there will be no visitation or service. Cremation has taken place with interment later in the spring.
