MCPEE, Wayne Aloysius McPhee

Age  77, of Oshawa, passed away peacefully on February 2, 2026, at Fosterbrook Long-Term Care Home in Newcastle.

Born July 8, 1948, in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia, Wayne was the son of the late Katherine (Wadden) and Daniel McPhee. He married Patricia Alexander on October 5, 1968, and together they raised five children.

Wayne was a life-long Toronto Maple Leafs fan and a good defenseman who enjoyed nothing more than playing hockey. “The Commish” was well respected for his skills on the ice by his friends and fellow players. He also loved fishing and spending his winters in Florida.

He is survived by his loving wife, Patricia; his children Shari (Dave), Troy (Janie), Morgan (Darrel), Trevor, and Matthew (Laura); and his grandchildren, to whom he was a beloved “Papa,” Owen, Mia, Holly, James, and Noah.

He was predeceased by his siblings Ruthie, Patricia (Patsie), and Carol.

In keeping with Wayne’s wishes, there will be no funeral service. A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
