MCQUILLAN, LuAnn McQuillan
November 14, 1945 - May 17, 2026She was 80, of Stratford, passed away peacefully at the Stratford Rotary Hospice on Sunday, May 17. Born in Stratford, daughter of the late Edna and Clifford Smith. LuAnn is survived by her long-time love of 53 years, Sandy McQuillan. Proud mother of Rob (Mandy) McQuillan, James (Joanna) McQuillan and Jenn (Mike) Christie. Loving Grandma and Nana to Colton, Emma, Allie, Kylee, Kamryn, Alivia, and Regan. She will be remembered by her sisters-in-law Flora Murphy, Sheila McQuillan and Marlan Smith and brother-in-law Archie (Muriel) McQuillan.
Predeceased by her father-in-law and mother-in-law Wilfred and Florence McQuillan, brother-in-law Joseph Murphy and only brother, Don Smith.
Her many nieces and nephews will hold many cherished memories of Aunt Lu.
LuAnn McQuillan was a teacher with the Huron Perth Catholic School Board for her whole career. She loved the little ones in grade one and kindergarten, as she fondly referred to them as her βkinderbitsβ. LuAnn taught for many years at Immaculate Conception School and when it closed, she transferred to St. Ambrose School. After her retirement, she spent several years as the librarian at St. Ambrose School.
LuAnn loved spending time in her beautiful flower beds. She loved having βSunday Night Supperβ for as many of the family who could attend. LuAnn loved attending theatrical productions. She enjoyed her many trips to the East and West coast, but her favourite was a two week trip to Newfoundland.
Sandy and his family would like to thank the wonderful staff who took care of LuAnn over the last few weeks at the Stratford Rotary Hospice.
In keeping with LuAnnβs wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family memorial service will take place with interment of LuAnnβs remains with her parents in St. Maryβs Cemetery.
