It is with great sorrow that the family announces his sudden death due to natural causes, with his father by his side, on Thursday, November 6, 2025, at the tender age of 22.
Cherished son of Jim McWhinnie. Loving grandson of Bill and Mary McWhinnie. He will be greatly missed by his fur baby Lady, his best friend Draven Desjardins and by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
He is predeceased by his mother Melanie Wasakimik, his grandparents Bessie and Samual Kanakeesic and Jean Christina McWhinnie.
Shaye graduated from Timmins High Vocational school in 2021. He was a very caring and loving soul. He was very soft spoken and was always there to lend a helping hand to those around him. Shaye had a passion for gaming and spending time at home. Above all, he loved spending quality time with his father and his dog Lady. The bond they shared will forever be treasured.
He will be greatly missed and forever remembered.
Family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the LESSARD Funeral Home and Cremation Centre. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 13, 2025, at 12:30 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with a reception to follow in the funeral home reception centre. Remembrance donations to the Timmins Humane Society would be greatly appreciated.
