Son of Isia and Ralph Scott, formerly of Wellington Street, Whitby, passed away on October 28, 2026.
Born in British-occupied Berlin in 1951, Michael emigrated to Canada as a young child and was raised in Whitby, where he attended local schools before continuing his education at Lakefield College School.
Michael Elgin Scott began a career with General Motors that would span his entire working life. Michael had a lifelong passion for motorsports, it was the great joy of his life.
Over more than six decades, Michael built lasting friendships, had many adventures, and collected countless memories of the racing world.
Michael is lovingly remembered by his spouse, Mona Matthews; his stepchild, Per (Jacquie); and his grandchildren, Dylan and Kyle. He is also remembered by his cousins, Elgin Scott and Elizabeth Scott, and by his godchildren, Alex Settels and Tanya Settels.
We would like to thank the staff at Lakeridge Health Oshawa, Acute care and Palliative care teams as well as the staff at Marigold Hospice.
