She passed away peacefully on July 6, 2026, at the age of 85, in Bowmanville, Ontario. Born on October 30, 1940 in Madrisio, Italy, Celeste was the youngest of 11 children. She immigrated to Canada in 1961.

Celeste Michelin lived a life devoted to her family, guided by love, kindness, and unwavering strength. She was a cherished wife, mother and grandmother who always placed her family first. Celeste also took great pride in maintaining a warm and welcoming home, caring for it with remarkable attention and devotion. Her house reflected the same qualities that defined her lifeβ€”hard work, dignity, pride, and love.

Celeste was the beloved wife of Virginio Michelin. Together they built a loving family and shared 65 years of devotion and companionship.

She leaves behind her loving children, Paola (Gary), Carla (Dave), Loretta (Egon), and Giuseppe, who will forever treasure her guidance, wisdom, and unconditional love. She was a proud, and devoted grandmother to Jordan, Joshua (Kylie), Noah, Chad, Alessia (Cameron), and Stefano, each of whom brought her immense joy and pride. She will also be fondly remembered by her sister Renza Pestrin and her sister and brother-in-law’s, Sergio, Pia, Ines, Aldo and many nieces and nephews in Italy.

Celeste will be fondly remembered for keeping her Italian heritage alive and proudly passing those traditions on to her children and grandchildren.
