It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Miguel Herculano Vieira who left us on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, at the age of 73.

A hardworking man with a generous heart and an unforgettable presence, Miguel spent his life dedicated to building—both in his career as a skilled construction worker and in the strong foundation he created for his family.

Born with a lifelong love for his heritage, he held a special passion for Sao Miguel. He delighted in the vibrant energy of Portuguese marching bands, the excitement of his Sporting soccer matches, and the thrill of cheering on his beloved Toronto Maple Leafs. Simple pleasures brought him the greatest joy, especially his cherished morning routine of enjoying a coffee from McDonald's to start the day.

Above all, his family was his world. He is survived by his beloved wife and partner of 59 years, Madalena Vieira; his loving daughters, Judy Oliveira and Brenda Silva (Helio); his cherished grandchildren, Lucas and Leena; and his precious great-granddaughter, Meadow Ivory. His memory will also be held dear by his extended family and many friends.

Miguel Herculano Vieira will be deeply missed for his hard work, warmth, and the deep love he had for those around him.

Resting at Corbett Funeral Home, 95 Dundas Street, N., Cambridge, Ontario N1R 5N6 on Friday, October 9, 2026, from 5 pm – 9 pm.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be at Our Lady of Fatima Roman Catholic Church, 185 Elgin Street, S., Cambridge, Ontario on Saturday, October 11 am.  Interment to follow at Parklawn Cemetery, Cambridge, Ontario.  As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated by the family.
