MILLER-O’DONOGHUE, Tara Catherine Miller-O’Donoghue

The family of Tara Catherine Miller–O’Donoghue is saddened to announce her sudden and unexpected passing on Wednesday July 15, 2026, at the age of 51.

Tara is survived by her beloved husband Aidan Edward O’Donoghue, who she was happily married to for 12 years. She was a devoted and loving mother to Alexandra Margaret Miller-Burchell and Abigail Bridgit Miller O’Donoghue. Cherished daughter of Bonnie Miller and the late Alexander (Sandy) Miller, Tara is survived by her brother Christopher Miller (Alanna). Tara was a loving Aunt to Clara, William, Callaghan, Ciara, Ayla, and Saoirse. Furmother to Bodhi, Lily, Blu, Charlie, Murphy, and Daisy. She will be deeply missed by all her extended family members and friends who were greatly important to her.

Tara was born in Freeport Bahamas on December 19, 1974. She moved to Canada with her parents at the age of 5 and from there grew her life in Ontario. Tara was dedicated to her career in Human Resources and had her first child Alex in 1999. She met her husband Aidan in high school, and they got together in 2005. They moved to Bowmanville and she had her second daughter Abigail in 2009. Tara moved to her dream house in Newcastle with her family in 2012.

Tara loved being at the beach with her toes in the sand and found great joy being on vacation near the ocean. She passed her love of travelling to her daughters who will continue to wander the world for her. Tara loved sunflowers, laughing with her daughters and husband, and spending time with her many great friends. She had a great love of music and never missed the opportunity to see a live show, sing along to her favourite bands, and dance the night away. Tara also loved riding her horse, Lily, and had been passionate about horses since she was 12 years old. She proudly competed with Lily in her first horse show on July 12, 2026, and the smile never left her face.

Tara volunteered at Lakeridge Health Oshawa in the stroke ward and became an ambassador for the Heart and Stroke Foundation. She loved helping people on their journeys, even when her own became difficult.

A celebration of Tara’s life will be held on Thursday July 30 at The Lake House in Pickering.

“I’ll keep on healing all the scars. That we’ve collected from the start. I’d rather this than live without you. For every wish upon a star. That goes unanswered in the dark. There is a dream I’ve dreamt about you. And from afar, I lie awake. Close my eyes to find I’d never be the same. Without you. Without you.” – Eddie Vedder
