MITCHELL, Catherine Cairns Mitchell – It is with profound sadness that the family of Catherine announce her peaceful passing on Wednesday, July 3, 2024 at the age of 84 years.

Catherine is survived by John, her loving and devoted husband of 60 years and together had built a wonderful life, full of love and cherished memories.

Beloved Mom to her daughter Michelle Janine Tatomir (Jerry).

She is survived by her brother John Skilling (late Janette). She was predeceased by her parents: John and Sarah Skilling.

Catherine will be sadly missed but lovingly remembered by all who knew her.

Catherine had a love for gardening, enjoyed watching her favourite show Coronation Street every evening, listening to her favourite music and taking great care of her home and most importantly, the family she was very proud of.

She could often be found taking long walks in the neighbourhood and stopped to chat with neighbours she’d meet along the way.

Catherine was warm and loving and she was loved by everyone.

As per Catherine’s wishes, cremation will take place and a private family gathering has taken place.
In lieu of flowers,

Memorial donations in Catherine’s name may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society.

The family wishes to send a special thank you to the staff at the Lakeridge Health Oshawa, the Village of Taunton Mills and Extendicare Oshawa for their care and compassion.
