MITCHELL, Donald James Mitchell

He was long-time resident of East Gwillimbury and Newmarket went to join his heavenly family on August 10th 2026 in his 96th year. Donald James Mitchell joins his wife the late Norma Howley, his parents Robert and Florence Mitchell and his Sister Marion. Beloved Father of Debra (Debber) Rush and her husband John of Thorah/Beaverton, Susan Mitchell of Ottawa and James and his wife Myrna of Toefield Alberta. His legacy includes 9 Grandchildren, Suzanne and Daniel Rush, Celina and Yannis Fotiadis, Johnathan, Sarah, Bethany, Jarod and Christopher Mitchell, 10 Great Grandchildren, Lauren Harford, Jordan and Jacob Houston, Michaela Wilson, Aiden and Cassidy Rush, Hayden and Erin Mitchell, Connor and Nathan Heinz and Jordan, Jayden, and Isabelle. He was also the very proud Great, Great Grandad of his “little one” Elise Harford. He was loved unconditionally by all his family and every dog he ever come across.

While he spent the majority of his final years with his eldest Daughter and her Husband on their homestead near Beaverton, the past year and a half he called Bon Air Ltc. in Cannington his home. Don’s family will be forever grateful to the wonderful Nurses, “his girls” the PSW’s and staff at Bon Air for making his stay a happy one filled with love and caring ..

Celebration of life will be held for 2pm at the Homestead (b1580 hwy 48, Beaverton) on August 29th 2026.
