MITCHELL, Ronald Mitchell

Dad passed away suddenly at the age of 77. Predeceased by his parents Alastair and June and his brothers, David and Peter (Frank).

Survived by his loving children Cameron (Jennifer) and Shana Hennessy (Paul). Dad’s pride and joy were his grandchildren: Jack, Charlie, and Ellie Hennessy, and Ethan Mitchell.

Recently, Dad was particularly pleased to learn that Jack will be following in his footsteps as he pursues his MBA at UWO. Jacko, go make your Grandpa proud! Grandpa loved Charlie’s cheeky sense of humour and love of life. We think Charlie inherited this trait from his grandfather! And Ellie was the apple of his eye. His only granddaughter, Ellie made grandpa proud; he was so excited to learn of her imminent university offerings. This past fall Papa committed to paying Ethan $1 for every goal he scored this hockey season. He would proudly complain to anyone who would listen as to how much money that kid was costing him!

Dad’s career was spent in the cigarette, beverage alcohol, newspaper and extruded plastics industries, and culminated in the insurance business. Dad could sell freezers in the arctic and was quick to say, ‘Leave the sales to me’.

Dad will be particularly missed by his lifelong friend and brother-in-law Mike Watt, and his favourite cousin Greg Linton (Abby). Long Live the Lloyd’s! Our mother Joya Mitchell is also grieving as is his step granddaughter, Katelyn Parrish.

We will gather to remember Dad at a future date. It will be a Celebration of Life because as he would say, ‘Let us not wallow in the quagmire of the past’.
