With heavy hearts we share the passing of Patricia Rose Mooney (nee Smith), on September 10, 2025, at 72 years of age, surrounded by love and sunshine at Lee Manor. While we deeply mourn her loss, we take comfort in knowing her long struggle with dementia has ended and she is finally at peace.
She poured her love into her children; Sarah (Hermann Tatchen), Ben (Melody Vincent), Andy (Melanie Reid), Lacey (James Moyse) and also her grandchildren, Devin, Jaxson, Heidi and Millie. She will be dearly missed by sister Allana Gillam-Wright (deceased Jim Gillam-Wright), and brother James Smith (Michelle Ingram-Smith). She is predeceased by her parents, Allan and Norma Smith, and nieces Tracey and Mahgan Gillam-Wright. She will be fondly remembered by the extended families of the Smith’s and Mooney’s and many friends.
Though small in stature, she was fierce in spirit. She found joy in life’s simple pleasures such as driving country roads, sitting by the water with her beloved dogs, enjoying an ice cream cone, playing her guitar, singing, painting and time spent with friends and family.
Our family extends heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff at Lee Manor. The care and kindness on 2 South went above and beyond and we are forever thankful.
