It is with heavy hearts and a profound sense of loss that we announce the sudden passing of Lucia Maria Aguiar DaPonte Moreira on December 18, 2024, at Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto, at the age of 66. Born on July 2, 1958, in Rabo De Peixe, Azores, Portugal, she is reunited in Heaven with her caring parents, Manuel and Fernanda.
Loving wife of Leonardo for over 44 years of marriage. Beloved mother of Christina (Edward) and Derrick (Stephanie). Proud Vavó of Jenna and Liam. Adored sister of Jose (Desprazer), Fatima (late Antonio), Trinidad (late Jose), Eduarda (Joseph), Rosaria (Fernando), Antonio (Kathy), and Germano (Zelia).
Lucia will be sadly missed and held dear in the hearts of her nieces, nephews, and many friends. She will be lovingly remembered and never forgotten.
Visitation: Thursday, December 26, 2024, from 2 – 4 p.m. & 6 – 8 p.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Funeral Home, 211 Langstaff Road East, Thornhill, Ontario, L3T 3Z6.
Funeral Mass: Friday, December 27, 2024, at 12:00 p.m. in the Chapel of St. Joseph at Holy Cross Catholic Funeral Home, with interment to follow at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery – Section 33A. For those unable to attend, the Funeral Mass will be livestreamed.
