MORLEY, George Charles Morley

Passed away on November 9th in his 90th year. Beloved husband of the late Hilda Morley for 32 years and the late Olive Morley for 31 years. Proud Dad of Jo Barham (David), Craig Young, Laura Murray and Lynda Burnett (Kevin). Loving Grampa/Grampy to Peter, William, Tawsha, Marcus, Gregory, Benjamin, Robert, Timothy, Jonty and Stephanie. Great-Grampy to Nathaniel, Kylie and Kayla. Loving twin Brother to Marina (Gordon). Predeceased by his Daughter Georgina Briggs (Mike), his Brother John Morley, his Sister Betty Watson (Jim), and his Grandson (Kenneth). He will be dearly missed by countless nieces, nephews and cousins.

George grew up in Ightham, a place from which many a mail service story was set. He was very fond of his book on Ightham where an image of him as a child is depicted in its pages. He served as a Senior Communication Tech in the RAF, a role he was very proud of and that led him to a lifelong participation with the Legion in whatever city he found himself. It is fitting that he was returned to the Lord on Armistice Sunday where poppies adorned every lapel and appreciation for service is proudly offered. He participated in the poppy campaign every year until his health began to be challenged and even then, he attended service as a veteran often braving the elements in Canada on parade. He was a devoted husband and father and the kindest man; every person who met him felt appreciated. He will be missed in such large measure by so many who benefited from knowing his kindness, moral fortitude and respect. We live in certain faith that the heavens are brighter and happier with your arrival. We will miss you.
