MORRISON, Debra Jo-Ann Morrison

After a courageous battle with cancer, Debra Jo-anne Morrison (née Demeter) peacefully passed away at home, surrounded by her loving family, on Saturday, September 20th, 2025.

Debra was the beloved wife of the late Rick Morrison (2006) and a devoted mother to Sarah (Shawn) and Reid (Heather). She was a cherished Yaya to Hazel and a treasured sister to the late Sherrill Brown (Bob) and Peter (Lori). She was the loving daughter of the late William and Eileen (Nanny) Demeter. Debra was deeply loved by many friends and family, both near and far.

Our dear Momma had a gift for bringing loved ones together around her dinner table. She was a talented creator in her sewing room, generously sharing her creations with those she held dear.

Debra leaves behind a lasting legacy of education and opportunity through her work at Durham College, Faculty of Nursing, where her impact will continue to be felt for years to come.

Visitation will be held on September 29th, 2025 from 1-3 p.m. and 5-7 p.m. at Northcutt Elliott Funeral Home in Bowmanville. A funeral service will take place on September 30th, 2025 at 11 a.m. at St. John’s of Ida Anglican Church in Cavan, Ontario.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the ICU department at Lakeridge Health Bowmanville, in appreciation of the exceptional care she received.
