MURPHY, William “Bill” Clarence Murphy
December 12, 2025
He passed away at the age of 64 on Friday December 12, 2025, peacefully at home in the arms of his loved ones, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. He faced his illness with strength and perseverance, true to the man he had always been.
Above all else, Bill was a devoted father to his three daughters, Sarah, Megan, and Lori, lovingly known as his “three birds.” They were his deepest source of pride and happiness, and his love for them guided every choice he made. He raised his beloved daughters with their mother, Sherry; though life led them down different paths, they remained forever connected by their immeasurable love for the girls. Bill cheered them on as their number one fan, spending Summers at ball diamonds and Winters at hockey arenas, stood firmly in their corner, and was their constant source of inspiration. He adored his granddaughter, Madeleine; she brought him immense joy and held a very special place in his heart.
Later in life, Bill shared a deep and meaningful partnership with Jaky, whose unconditional love, support, and companionship brought him comfort, laughter, and strength. Together, they shared many cherished moments, from traveling and exploring new places, to slow mornings sipping coffee and admiring lake views on the deck.
Bill found his happiest moments at the cottage, surrounded by family and friends and appreciating life’s simple pleasures. He loved being on the water, taking people out for leisurely boat rides, never in a rush and always enjoying the company. The dock was his gathering place – where projects were planned, laughs and IPAs were shared, and stories were told. He had a true gift for bringing people together; he loved hosting, experimenting with new recipes and making sure no one ever left hungry.
Bill will be remembered for his generosity, sense of humour, kindness, and strong work ethic – as well as his loyalty to Costco and Thursday Wing Nights. His absence leaves a deep ache, but his legacy lives on in the memories he created, the lessons he taught, and the love he gave so freely.
Bill is survived by his mother, Eva Murphy, sisters, Lisa McCleary (Paul) and Sherry Teeter (Steve), his former wife, Sherry Murphy, his loving partner, Jaky Leduc, his dear daughters Sarah McLean (Kevin), Megan Walton (Sam), and Lori Murphy (Jeremy), his granddaughter Madeleine, and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his father, Clarence Murphy. Bill’s memory will be cherished by countless friends, family, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
To honour Bill, a Celebration of Life will follow in the Spring of 2026. As an expression of sympathy, the family kindly requests that donations in memory of Bill may be made to the “The Hudson Regional Cancer Program” of the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre, Barrie and may be made through the Funeral Home.
