Lawrence “Larry” Edward Myers

Passed away peacefully, at Woodstock General Hospital, Lawrence “Larry” Edward Myers, a resident of Caressant Care and formerly of Fairground, on Thursday, May 14th, 2026, at the age of 87. Larry was born at “Graveyard Hill” (Tillsonburg, ON), son of the late Lawrence and Aleta (nee Curtis) Myers. Over his working years, Larry was a heavy equipment operator and later a machinist, working in metal fabrication for 20 years. Larry would proudly proclaim that he was a jack of all trades and a master of none. Larry was predeceased by his much-loved wife Irene (Ecker) Myers (2012), his beloved son John Edwin Myers (2020), sister Joyce, brother James Allan and Donald Gene. Survived by three stepsons, as well as by extended family members, neighbours and friends.

In keeping with Larry’s expressed wishes, a public graveside service and interment will take place in Cultus Cemetery on Friday, May 22nd, 2026, at 1:00 p.m., officiated by Pastor Paul Penelton. No public visitation will be held. Everyone who knew Larry is invited to share favourite memories, send personal condolences, or as an expression of sympathy contribute memorial donations to “VON Oxford” (for Sakura House Hospice) or to “The Mission Church” (Frogmore) via Larry’s online tribute page at www.verhoevefuneralhomes.com or by contacting the Maurice J.
